Voorhees Ballet Theatre

The Voorhees Ballet Theatre is a 501c3 organization located in Voorhees, NJ. Suzanne Steinbach founded the company in 1986 as the performing Ballet Ensemble of Lowe Dance Studio. The Voorhees Ballet Theatre offers professional experiences to ballet students all over the Greater Philadelphia Area. Its purpose is to provide students educational opportunities parallel to that of a professional ballet company. VBT presents an annual Summer Intensive and two full-length ballet's each year. This season, they performed their annual production of The Nutcracker in December, and presented a new version of Snow White in April.

Aside from performing, members of the Ensemble are expected to commit to several hours of technique classes per week in ballet, jazz, and modern. The highest rank of the Ensemble is the Pre-Professional Division. This is a group of serious minded ballet students who hope to have a dance career in the future. These dancers study up to 10 hours a week in ballet, prepare for summer and company auditions, learn to construct dance resumes, and perform in various community events. They also explore their creativity in VBT's Annual Choreographic Seminar, where they are challenged with choreographing ballet and contemporary works on their peers.

Being named the official ballet company of Voorhees, NJ, VBT is extremely proud of their role in the South Jersey community. In addition to the incredible students, VBT would not be complete without the talented volunteers and generous patrons who support the execution of their mission.
