There needed to be an atmosphere for dancers to get the same benefits from convention without all of that struggle. What we value about this program is what we think every dancer should be exposed to at this stage in their training: Professional Instructors who work and perform in the industry

Regional Dance America presents the 2026 Dance & Choreography Intensive
Inspiring dancers and choreographers to move, create, and grow.

Regional Dance America’s Dance & Choreography Intensive offers dancers and choreographers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to elevate their artistry through immersive training, creative exploration, and nightly performances. Building on more than six decades of excellence, RDA’s intensive now expands into three dynamic one-week sessions across the country, each designed to nurture versatility, creativity, and collaboration in today’s dancers and dance-makers. Join us for one, two or all three amazing weeks of extraordinary training and artistry!
Two Inspiring Tracks
Dancer Track – Designed for dancers ages 13 and up training at an intermediate to advanced level, the Dancer Track offers a vibrant week of growth and performance. Participants take daily ballet classes complemented by pointe, modern, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, ballroom, Pilates, and more—all led by world-class faculty and guest artists. Dancers strengthen their versatility, expand their artistry, and refine their ability to quickly absorb new choreography—skills essential for auditions and professional work. Each evening culminates in a performance, giving dancers the chance to shine on stage and bring newly created works to life.
Choreographer Track – For choreographers ready to deepen their craft, this track provides an immersive environment to explore and refine creative vision. Through daily composition classes, seminars, and guided rehearsals with RDA dancers, participants gain valuable mentorship from nationally recognized professionals. Choreographers are encouraged to take risks, collaborate across disciplines, and cultivate their personal artistic identity—all while developing new works for live performance.
A Legacy of Excellence
Since its founding in 1961, RDA’s signature summer intensive has been a launchpad for generations of dancers and choreographers. What began as the Summer Choreography Plan, grew to the Craft of Choreography Conferences, then National Choreography Intensive programs; now the Dance & Choreography Intensive expands RDA’s summer intensive accessibility to three location offerings in 2026. We build upon this tradition—offering spaces where movement, music, and imagination come together to inspire the next wave of dance artists throughout the country.
