Manikanta Yaganamurthy- Bollywood

Mr. Yaganamurthy is a choreographer, teacher, performer and collaborator of Indian fusion dance. A native of India he began his study of dance at the age of 5 learning traditional South Indian dance (Kuchipudi). He danced competitively throughout India and by 19, receiving numerous awards he made appearances on India television. A highlight of his career while in India was to work with the actors from the movie RRR which one the Academy Award for best foreign film in 2023.

As a choreographer he incorporates traditional Indian dance on students of classical ballet, contemporary, and jazz. His style is emotional and technically challenging. When choreographing for a Bollywood piece for Western dancers the dancers learn how to bring dramatic intention to a demanding exuberant style.

Mr. Yaganmurthy moved to the US in 2016 to pursue his love of dance and broaden his exposure to the wonderful dance traditions in the US. He helped introduce Indian dance to dance studios and companies throughout the Northeast. Mr. Yaganmurthy is currently on the staff of MYB studio in Madison, NJ teaching and choreographing Contemporary, Bollywood fusion and Theatre dance. He continues to bring his culture and dance style to Western audiences.
